Lake Havasu is a large reservoir loacted behind Parker
Dam on the Colorado River. It is on the California-Ariona border.
Over 3.5 million people visit Lake Havasu each year, and many enjoy
the famous recreational fishing and boating that one can experience
there.
Along the shores of Lake Havasu is Lake Havasu City,
established in 1964 by Robert P. McCulloch (of McCulloch chainsaws).
The population is approximately 56,000. Like many Arizona towns,
Lake Havasu City grew around an old mining town established in the
early 20th century.

A popular and visible tourist attraction
in Lake Havasu City is the London Bridge. It was purcahse for $2.5
million from the City of London when London's bridge was replaced
in 1968. They disassembled the bridge, and the marked each stone
before shipping to Lake Havasu City . It was reassembled at an additional
cost of $7 million, and opened in October 1971.
